Kolkata, Feb 22 (IANS) Two Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leaders, including a former legislator, were killed in a clash in West Bengal Wednesday which the Left Front blamed on the ruling Trinamool Congress. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee linked the deaths to infighting within the CPI-M.

ROME (Reuters) – Salvage workers have found four more bodies on the wreck of the Costa Concordia, bringing to 21 the confirmed number of dead from the accident in which the huge cruise ship hit rocks and capsized off the Italian coast last month. Authorities said on Wednesday that the bodies of a woman and a 5-year-old girl had been recovered. Work on bringing the other bodies up from one of the sunken decks of the ship was continuing, they said. “It would seem that there are four bodies, recovery operations are underway,” the Civil Protection Agency said in a statement. …

(Reuters) – Nearly 12 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2011, an increase of 13 percent over 2010, according to a report released on Wednesday by the research firm Javelin Strategy & Research. The rise in the use of smartphones and social media by incautious consumers fueled the increase in identity fraud, and 2011 was a year of several big data breaches too, Javelin said. …

The film, produced by Sony Pictures, might never have been made without Holehouse giving his approval. Holehouse, the senior risk consultant for Fireman’s Fund Insurance, huddled with the “Dragon Tattoo” producers to change scenes in which Mara rode a motorcycle, a key element of the movie. MUMBAI (Reuters) – The rupee ended stronger on Wednesday as robust capital inflows offset dollar demand from local oil importers and negative equities, and the outlook for the currency remains positive. Dollar inflows into India are expected to stay strong and easing inflation is seen creating more room for the Reserve Bank of India to cut interest rates, traders said. “Improvement in growth outlook for FY13 will provide support to rupee and hence we expect it to trade around 46 levels by December 2012,” said Shubhada M. HELSINKI (Reuters) – Nokia will next week unveil a new, cheaper smartphone using Microsoft’s Windows Phone software, targeting a wider market for its new range of smartphones, two sources close to the company said.
